Successful Opening Night

Last night was the opening of the Winter x Winter exhibition that I wrote about in the previous post . It was gratifying to have been invited to be a part of Julie Winter’s vision! We’d seen the beginning of the install when we delivered our piece last Monday, but walking into the final work was thrilling! The addition of the artwork on the floor and the sculptural pieces on pedestals was an added treat.

There is so much depth and content to all of the works, I am looking forward to going back to the gallery in a quiet time and absorbing more. There is a book that contains every artists’ statement and bio, which will deepen any viewer’s understanding of the work that came in response to Julie’s original theme and challenge to us.

The biggest surprise of the night was that Bob’s and my panel sold! It was purchased by a fellow artist whose work we respect and resonate with, Jane Quale. This was beyond a surprise. As recently as Monday, we didn’t know we had to put a price on the piece. It was a very satisfying conclusion to a lot of work! People asked us if after this successful collaboration, would we be doing another collaboration soon. Our answer was well… we are looking forward to going back into the studio and each of us getting to work on our individual work for the near term!

pretty proud to be here!
