Materials Inspire the Direction

Earlier this year I made a conscious decision to shift gears. In helping to move forward in a fresh way, I gathered older work that I wished to “move out”— so a flash sale successfully made that happen.

Over the last year I’ve been slowly creating new pieces, and I do mean slowly! The piece titled Meandering Meditation took over a year to complete. It began in the fall of 2022 in Barcelona, came home, and went back to Spain and I completed it in Barcelona this spring! I’ve been reveling in experimentation and thoughtful making, and hope I’m laying groundwork for my art going forward.

Check out the newest set of work. The series is called Peaceful Calm. I laid out a palette and basic rules that I am exploring in several works. I’m not done with this series, so new pieces will appear down the road.

Also to come, are more works in the series titled Exhuberant Joy. A different palette, and a different set of rules. I’ve got a third series percolating in my head, yet to be fleshed out. But I’m energized by the idea that I have a basic roadmap that I can follow for the next few years!
